I
live in central upstate New York, U.S., with my husband Mike. Mike
gave me my first digital camera (a Sony Mavica) as a gift for my birthday
in December 2003; then for my birthday a year later he gave me the Nikon
D70. In March 2006 I sold the D70 and purchased the Nikon D2X.
The D2X is the camera I use most of the time, although I also have acquired
a Nikon D90 mainly for back-up and for use in certain conditions.
Many
years ago, while a student at university, I took several photography classes
and bought my first film camera, a Pentax K1000, and learned to develop
black and white photos in the darkroom.
Unfortunately,
in the intervening years it just wasn't possible for me to pursue photography.
But my husband's gift has reignited the old flame -- hence, this website.
For
those interested in the technical side of things, I shoot exclusively in
RAW format and do all post-processing work in Photoshop CS2. My lenses
include the AF-S DX Nikkor 12-24mm f/4G zoom, the AF-S DX Nikkor 18-200mm
f/3.5-5.6G VR zoom, the AF-S VR Nikkor ED 200-400mm f/4G IF zoom, a Nikkor
50mm 1.8, and a Vivitar 100mm macro lens.
The
Archives page contains a thumbnail of almost every photo on the site grouped
into subject categories to make it easier for visitors to get an overview
of what's here. If you've taken a look around, you'll see that there
is no overall theme with respect to the photos I post, just whatever happens
to strike my fancy and those shots that I like, for one reason or another.
I post rather haphazardly, not on a daily basis, so I hope you'll come
back often to see what's new.
Comments
and/or critiques are always welcome, and thanks very much for visiting!
